POCO M3 Pro 5G launched in India with 90Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip and more

Posted on

The POCO M3 Pro 5G, which was in Europe last month, just arrived, India. The POCO M3 Pro 5 is the direct successor to last year’s POCO M2 Pro and install the POCO M3 series.

This is the first POCO phone with the MediaTek Dimensity chipset, but it’s by no means the original device — it’s a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10 5G. But as always, it’s POCO to give the phone a nice visual update to differentiate it from the original device.

The POCO M3 Pro 5G features several separate improvements over its predecessor, like a higher screen refresh rate, a slightly faster chipset, and 5G connectivity. It has a 6.5-inch LCD display with a monitor refresh rate of 90 Hz, 500 nits, maximum screen brightness, and 360-degree light sensors. But it seems to me that the screen support does not play HDR10 POCO, saying anything about the SOFTWARE on the device side of the page.

Under the cover of the POCO, the M3 Pro 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, dual 4GB / 6GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.2 flash storage. The optical triple camera setup we’re looking at consists of a 48-megapixel main sensor and two 2-megapixel deep and macro shots. For some reason, POCO decided to free up the ultra-wide camera to the POCO M2 Pro outfits.

In the other direction is the 5000 mAh battery capacity, with support for 18W fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5 mm jack, and, of course, 5G connectivity. The phone runs MIUI 12 based on Android 11, out-of-the-box.

POCO M3 Pro 5G price in India

The POCO M3 Pro 5G starts at INR13,999 for the base model, while the top-end model will cost INR 15,999. The phone will be available on June 14 from Flipkart at 12 pm Eastern time. As a user’s early bird offer, there can be a direct, INR 500 off discount on both first sales.
