Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition to be equipped with Snapdragon 8+ SoC

Realme officially announced the front poster of the realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition to be released on July 12 and opened blind sales, but did not disclose the specific configuration of the device. Now, the official further promotion shows that the realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition will be the first to launch LPDDR5X and be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ processor.

According to realme, the Snapdragon 8+ adopts TSMC’s 4nm process technology, which improves CPU performance by 10%, GPU frequency by 10%, and reduces power consumption by 30%. The LPDDR5X launched by the realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition has reduced power consumption by 20% compared to the previous generation.

Earlier today, digital blogger @Digital Chat Station said that official data shows that compared with LPDDR5, the comprehensive power consumption of LPDDR5X is reduced by 20%, and a short video is reduced by 20%, long video is reduced by 25%, and games are reduced by 30%. In addition, the poster also shows that the device uses UFS 3.1 storage.

According to the blogger’s previous revelations and online information, the realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition is 8.2mm thick, weighs 199g, uses a 6.7-inch 2412×1080 resolution 120Hz high-brush AMOLED flexible straight screen, and is provided with a 4880mAh (nominal 5000mAh) dual battery Cell battery, support 100W fast charge, front 16MP lens, rear 50MP + 50MP + 2MP lens.

In addition, digital blogger @feiwei broke the news that the realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition uses Micron LPDDR5X memory. The new LPDDR5X is a memory standard officially released by the JEDEC Solid State Storage Association at the end of July 2021 and was developed by JEDEC’s JC-42.6 Low Power Memory Subcommittee. Compared with LPDDR5, it is mainly improved in the following three aspects:

1. Bandwidth increased from 6400MT/s to 8533MT/s;

2. TX/RX equalization improves signal integrity;

3. Improve reliability with new adaptive refresh management.

At present, both Samsung and Micron have achieved mass production of LPDDR5X memory. Among them, Samsung officially announced LPDDR5X in November last year, calling it the industry’s first new-generation mobile DRAM based on 14nm.

Its operating speed is the fastest among Samsung’s existing mobile DRAM, at up to 8.5Gbps, which is about 1.3 times faster than the previous generation LPDDR5’s operating speed of 6.4Gbps. Micron announced in November last year that MediaTek had verified Micron’s LPDDR5X memory on the latest flagship chipset Dimensity 9000, successfully verifying Micron’s 7.5 Gb/s rate and 8.533 Gb/s rate samples.
