Samsung could ditch Galaxy S25 Plus variant

Leaks and rumors about the Galaxy S25 series, expected to be released in early 2025 have been hovering on the web for a long. Meanwhile, a recent input suggests, the lineup may consist of only two models the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

For years, Samsung is been releasing three models in the Galaxy S series including a Standard, the Plus, and the Ultra. But in 2025, the Korean tech giant might have a plan to ditch the Galaxy S25 Plus variant.

A database via Android Headlines revealed details about the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Notably, there was no existence of Galaxy S25 Plus, and this hints at the cancelation of this middle variant, which actually didn’t make big sense.

The IMEI certifications show the Galaxy S25 with model number SM-S931B/DS. While, Galaxy S25 Ultra carries SM-S938B, SM-S938U, SM-S938N, and SM-S9380 model numbers. Here, the last digits B, U, and N stand for Global, USA, and Korea.

The possible absence of the Galaxy S25 Plus in the lineup may be a strategic move by Samsung to facilitate its focus on the more profitable Ultra model. However, this is still a buzz, and Samsung has yet to confirm details about the Galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S25 series is anticipated to be announced in January or February 2025, following Samsung’s traditional release pattern. Also, the lineup will introduce some prominent upgrades in terms of design, camera, gaming, colors, and more.
