Samsung might be planning to ship the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ with a MediaTek chip instead of the initially planned Exynos processor. While the Galaxy S25 Ultra will completely boast a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
Samsung was anticipated to follow its same strategy of shipping standard and plus variants of Galaxy S series with Exynos SoC, while Ultra with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. But, this year, things are not going according to plan.
A recent report suggests that the Exynos 2500 chip cannot meet production requirements due to its low yield. This prompted Samsung to explore more options and consider partnering with MediaTek to develop customized chips for the Galaxy S25 and S25+.

This news of a possible change in the SoC currently lacks some evidence. But, this collaboration could lead to a major shift, offering users a different and more seamless experience compared to what was initially anticipated.
In addition, users in key markets such as Europe, India, and South Korea might be interested in using the Mediatek D9400 chip in the Galaxy S25 and S25+ models, especially if the Exynos 2500 chip’s reliability is in question.
