In recent developments, South Korea has released a new report, which shows that Samsung has set a new foldable mobile phone shipment target this year, up to 7 million units. At the same time, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 that can support S Pen input is expected to sell about 3 million units.

According to sources at TheElec, the South Korean technology giant has set a shipment target of 6 to 7 million new foldable phones for the upcoming foldable phones, which will be released in the second half of this year. It is worth noting that Samsung’s shipments of foldable phones are 2.4 to 2.8 times that of last year’s 2.5 million phones.
In addition, Samsung is expected to ship 2.5 million to 3 million Galaxy Z Fold 3 and 3.5 million to 4 million Z Flip 3. Of these two models, the success of Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to be crucial. Because the usability of foldable phones can be expanded through S Pen support.

The report further indicated that Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will start mass production next month. Surprisingly, Fold 3 uses Samsung’s UPC (tablet computer), when not in use, the front camera hole is not visible on the internal screen.
In addition, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a low-temperature polysilicon oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) that supports low power consumption, while the external screen uses a low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT. The panels of these phones are produced at Samsung Display’s Asan A3 and A4 factories.
According to previous reports, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is equipped with a 7.7-inch internal screen and a 5.4-inch external screen. On the other hand, Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be equipped with a 6.8-inch internal screen and a 1.9-inch external auxiliary screen.
