Ever since the smartphone industry developed ultra-narrow bezel screens with punch-hole type and waterdrop notch designs, the users have been eagerly waiting for the hidden camera display to become a reality.
After the first UDC phone from ZTE, Samsung is continuously working to develop the under-display camera technology without any quality reduction. Now, new information hints that the South Korean tech giant is ready to bring under-display camera technology to users.
According to the information, Samsung Display filed a trademark for the UPC (Under Panel Camera) at KIPO (Korea Intellectual Property Office). This trademark is related to smartphone displays and panels of TVs. However, Samsung’s first device with UPC technology may be an OLED Notebook.

By integrating the camera under the display can help Samsung to make devices with narrower bezels. Even, this technology can allow the company to put multiple front camera lenses on smart devices without worrying about ruining the design or drilling too many holes in the display.
