Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ will sport a 120Hz display, but regular Note 20 will be limited to 60Hz
Samsung equipped all of its latest Galaxy S20 devices with a 120Hz display, but it may not be the same with the Galaxy Note 20. According to a new report, the regular Galaxy Note 20 may not be equipped with a 120Hz display option. It’s possible this is done to preserve battery life and performance.

Ross Young, a supply chain consultant, says that Samsung has confirmed that the regular Galaxy Note 20 will not have a 120Hz screen. Instead, it will stick with an old 60Hz screen. He says the 120Hz display will only be available on the Galaxy Note 20+.
Note 20+ supports 120Hz, but Samsung confirmed to us that Note 20 does not.

Young previously said the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20+ going to add a power-efficient LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Note 20 Update – while the Note 20+ remains LTPO and 120Hz, the Note 20 will be LTPS and 60Hz. Makes sense since LTPO costs more and should appear first in premium models. You can do 120Hz with LTPS, but it consumes a lot of power. LTPO is the best implementation for 120Hz.

The higher refresh rate drains the battery and a larger battery on the Galaxy Note 20+ will be a better way to use a 120Hz display.
Young explains the LTPO tech is costly, and it should only be available on the premium Galaxy Note 20+. It also prevents the company from increasing the price of the Galaxy Note 20. In addition to the cost he adds, the company could still add 120Hz with LTPS, but it will hurt the battery life.
We have seen the insane prices of the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung is now probably thinking to find a solution to the bad sales due to higher price.
It was previously reported that the company is also looking to downgrade the storage of the standard Galaxy Note 20. The device is rumored to come with a 128GB storage option, while the Galaxy Note 10 equipped with the 256GB storage as standard.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 20 series in August 2020.
