Rumor: Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will be identical to the Galaxy S20 series with few changes

Two of the most trustworthy Twitter tipsters reveal that the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will be identical to the Galaxy S20 series with few changes. That’s based on reports citing two top Samsung insider sources — Ice Universe and Max Weinbach.

Ice Universe said the Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s hardware specifications will not be significantly changed compared to the Galaxy S20 series. Neither will the cameras.

A step ahead, Max Weinbach said “basically everything is the same” and the Galaxy Note 20 will look like an “S series with an S Pen and squared off corners.”

We have seen the similarities between the Galaxy S series to Note series in the past, as recently, the Galaxy S20 series has the same centered hole-punch display as the Galaxy Note 10 series, and you shouldn’t be surprised to see the Galaxy Note 20 adopt the same centered hole-punch display. The Galaxy Note 20 series could also feature the same square-shaped rear camera system from the Galaxy S20 series.

Last year, Samsung released three version versions of the Note — including the Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+, and Note 10+ 5G. You can expect the same strategy for the Galaxy Note 20, but it’s not currently clear. Samsung could also launch a third model as the company did with the Galaxy 20 Ultra and include a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Moving on to specs, the Galaxy Note 20 will be powered by the latest-available Qualcomm processor, it means the Galaxy Note 20 will come the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. There should be at least 12GB of RAM, with an available option to go all the way to 16GB. According to a leaked model number for the Galaxy Note 20 (SM-N9821), this device will come with standard 128GB.

A recent patent from February suggested that the Galaxy Note 20 could be equipped with a waterfall display. You can expect the 120Hz AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 20. We could see the 4500mAh and 5000mAh power supplies on the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20+ respectively.

Price and Release Date:

The Galaxy Note 20 will be expensive. We don’t know exactly how expensive, but something more than $1,000 for sure. Samsung hikes the price of the Galaxy S20 series, with the standard Galaxy S20 costing $1,000 and the Galaxy S20 Ultra starting at $1,399.

Last year, Samsung charged the $950 and $1100 for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ respectively. In 2018, the Galaxy Note 9 selling price was $999.

The Galaxy Note 20 series will be here in August. Samsung often releases the Galaxy Note device in August. Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy Note 10 series on August 23 and the Galaxy Note 9 on August 24 in 2018.
