Samsung Galaxy S21 (S30) reportedly won’t have time-of-flight sensor
Samsung Galaxy S21 (or S30) series reportedly will not have a time-of-flight sensor. According to the report from Korean publication The Elec, much like the Galaxy Note 20 series, the Galaxy S21 will likely not feature a ToF sensor. Samsung is said to be working on developing its own ToF sensor.
As per the report, Samsung is thinking to leave the ToF sensor due to competition with Apple, as the US company is also using the sensor in the upcoming iPhone.

Samsung and Apple purchase components from Sony to manufacture ToF sensors, but Apple has an exclusive contract for direct ToF tech from Sony. Samsung uses indirect ToF sensors, while Apple uses a direct ToF sensor with a LiDAR module. This helps Apple to measure distances up to 6 meters, while Samsung’s sensor can only reach up to 3 meters.
