Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 renders suggest in-display fingerprint and dual selfie camera
Letsgodigital has published information that Samsung is considering launching a Galaxy Z Flip smartphone that can fold in two directions. This eliminates the need for an additional screen.
A patent entitled “Apparatus and method of lighting a camera in an electronic device” was registered in October 2020 with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The 68-page documentation was published on April 15, 2021.
The clamshell phone is described as similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, but its display flexes in two directions. To do this, of course, you have to create a new swivel joint. When folded, the flexible screen remains protected from external influences.

If you fold the device to the other side, you have access to the screen from both the front and back. In addition, you can use the phone in its fully open position.
For this smartphone, Samsung chose a camera with two holes in the screen. Instead of a flash, Samsung wants to use the light emitted from the display. This solution has long been used in conventional smartphones. The patent also refers to a fingerprint scanner built into the display. There are currently no foldable smartphones on the market with a sub-screen fingerprint sensor.
