After witnessing several leaks and rumors, a new report about Samsung’s sixth-generation foldables has emerged, suggesting Econi will be responsible for Galaxy Z Flip 6 UTG post-processing. Notably, UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) is a crucial component for the quality and durability of a smartphone’s display.

According to the information of ETnews, Econi will reportedly be responsible for all the post-processing of Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) used on the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphone. While UTG used on Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be regulated by Samsung Display’s supply chain DooInsys.
Notably, the post-processing used for Galaxy Z Flip 6 Ultra Thin Glass requires etching technology for thinning, because the thickness of Corning’s UTG glass plate is relatively thicker than that of SCHOTT’s UTG glass plate. Offering users a more robust and resilient display compared to the previous one.
Econi is known for its expertise and by taking full responsibility for UTG on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, the manufacturer seems to be establishing itself in the UTG post-processing market.
