This could be the reason why 120Hz will not feature in iPhone 12
In the past, many rumors claimed that the upcoming iPhone 12 will feature a 120Hz screen refresh rate, but now it is confirmed that we’ll not see this high refresh rate on this year’s iPhone. This feature has been postponed by the company for the iPhone 13.

According to leaker Jon Prosser, the main reason why 120Hz is not included by the company because it consumes too much battery. As we know, iPhones already comes with low battery capacity. Therefore, it can’t run both 5G and 120Hz simultaneously.
Although, the A14 Bionic is capable to handle both of the features but it seems like Apple has already decided to choose 5G over 120Hz and set it as a priority to race in the 5G smartphone market.
I’m told that 120hz not being implemented in iPhone 12 Pro is 100% about battery life.
Hardware was more than capable — but it just eats through battery, and 5G drains enough battery by itself.
It was basically a choice between 120hz or 5G, and they picked 5G. Rightfully so.

Apple will unveil its next-generation iPhone 12 at the upcoming event on October 13. Alongside the new iPhone, the US tech giant could also launch other new devices such as AirPods Studio and HomePod Mini.
