Huawei’s new flagships are up on the shelves, the P50 series is went official with a bunch of amazing functionalities including a powerful 200x zoom camera. The company focused more on its camera features and loaded various new camera features.
This could be Huawei’s move to divert the users from not getting 5G connectivity, but this seems to be such a feature that can’t be ignored in today’s smartphone market. Yes! The Huawei P50 phones don’t come with 5G connectivity.

All the Huawei P50 phones powered by the Kirin 9000 and Snapdragon 888 only have 4G connectivity options to the very highest. The users must be curious to know why 5G is absent on the P50 phones or you just know about why.
Though Huawei’s Consumer Business head stated that the included 4G+WiFi 5 solution will provide users with enhanced and faster connectivity options. This was just to make sure that the users won’t feel left out because of the missing 5G.
Though the 5G and the latest WiFi 6 have their own advantages as we all know. The Chinese OEM has its own reasons and restriction to not include the latest generation network in its latest flagships.
The reason why no 5G Huawei P50 and P50 Pro
The United States imposed a ban on Huawei in May 2019, as per the sanctions, Huawei wasn’t allowed to purchase or use US-made technologies in its devices. Since then, the company has had to face outages of several components to produce new gadgets.
Later on, in 2020, Huawei’s difficulties increased when the US imposed even more restrictions on the Chinese tech giant. This further ban restricted Huawei not to make its chipsets with the chip manufacturing companies such as TSMC.
Without the support of the major chip-making companies, Huawei’s HiSililcon couldn’t manage to build 5G chipsets. Therefore, we didn’t get any 5G variants of the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro phones.
