Xiaomi new patent reveals a unique foldable phone with a converted camera design, that can be used for mobile communication, camera, network, multimedia applications, and more. Additionally, the key point of the patent is its design and shape.
The new patent picture of the Xiaomi foldable shows that the upper half of the phone can be folded back, and the front camera can be converted into a rear camera after folding. The screen can be pleated and a lens can be used for both purposes.
It means rather than using different camera lenses for the front and rear camera systems. The device might be utilized by one camera module which can be operated for selfies when it opens and further, can be folded back for the rearview and this could take the photography experience to a new level.
Therefore, the patent has been authorized and it seems to be applied to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 this time. Therefore, if it turns out to be true, then the Mix Fold 3 with its unique capabilities could give tough competition to the other folding devices in the market.
According to the information, the internal screen of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will be equipped with an under-screen camera to achieve a true full-screen form with no bangs and no digging holes. Other than this the patent didn’t show any other details.
Consequently, nothing can be said confirmed at this moment, like whether the patent is been applied for the upcoming Mix Fold 3 or it will be reserved for the fourth generation of foldable. As for the release time, for Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is expected to be officially released in the third quarter of this year.
Also, the Mix Fold 3 is said to be equipped with more adequate camera capabilities like the 50MP quad camera setup. One of which is a periscope telephoto lens. Notably, this is going to be Xiaomi’s first folding screen model equipped with a periscope lens.
