According to the revealer @Digital Chat Station, the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip in China is scheduled to be released by Xiaomi in July. It is expected that the Mi 12 Ultra will be equipped first, as well as mobile phones such as the Mi 12S and Mi 12 Pro.
The blogger also said that the life cycle of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 as the first flagship chip is not long, but it is expected to be decentralized to the mid-range next year, and new cases have already been opened.
At that time, the market strategy will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 of TSMC’s N4 node, similar to the operation of the Snapdragon 870. The new Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 is an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 8 mobile platform.
It adopts a three-cluster architecture of super-large core Cortex-X2 + large-core A710 + small-core A510, and the maximum frequency of the CPU core is increased to 3.2GHz. At the same time, compared to the Snapdragon 8, the Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 uses TSMC’s 4nm process.
