Samsung Electronics said geopolitical uncertainty could dampen demand until early 2023 as the global economic downturn slashed demand for electronic equipment.
Moreover, the data show that Samsung Electronics’ operating profit in the third quarter dropped from 15.8 trillion won in the same period last year to 10.85 trillion won, which is a drop in the past three years.
The first year-on-year decline was also in line with Samsung’s estimate of 10.8 trillion won earlier this month. In addition, Samsung Electronics’ third-quarter net profit was 9.14 trillion won, a year-on- year decrease of 24% ; third-quarter sales were 76.78 trillion won, a year-on- year increase of 3.8% .
