Samsung has recently partnered with Tech Foundation and they jointly said they would spend 48.65 billion won($40 million) this year on 27 new technologies for future research, from anti-aging to new materials for chips.

As per the report, the company has been supporting local researchers and their work since 2013 through the Samsung Science and Technology Foundation. It has won nearly 1.5 trillion won over the past decade, supporting 735 projects involving 14,000 researchers in nearly 50 schools.
Further, Samsung said it selected 12 basic science projects from its recipients this year for their innovative approach as well as academic values. One of the teams, led by Kang Chan-hee, a life science professor at Seoul National University, confirms the aging process of cells in the human body.
The aging cells usually migrate to other parts of the body via the senescence-Associated Secretary phenotype or SASP. The team looks at why aging is faster than others in some cells that help develop treatments for age-related diseases such as arthritis and metabolic syndrome.
The team, led by Choi Young-Jae, a materials engineering professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology, is developing a new refining technique for RNA structures, which will increase the refinery rate from the current 70 percent to 99 percent.
The high refinery rate helps to increase the overall efficiency of RNA-based vaccine production regardless of the amount of complexity. And the remaining seven projects are related to ICT innovations such as 6G networks and quantum computing.
Samsung said the selected projects will receive more practical support, such as guidance on commercialization as well as funding for up to five years.
