Apple Watch Ultra 2 features 72-hour battery life in Low Power Mode

Apple Watch Ultra 2 is the latest addition to the smartwatch family that comes with a 72-hour battery life in Low Power mode. That’s 12 hours more than the original Ultra variant. But it seems as if there are some confusing points in this matter.

The official details for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 read that the device is capable of offering 72-hour battery life while being in the Low Power mode. However, the testing parameters for the newly launched wearable are quite different from those for the original model.

Eventually, the fine print for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 quotes:

“Battery life in Low Power Mode is based on the following use: 360-time checks, 360 notifications, 180 minutes of app use, and two 60-minute workouts with music playback from Apple Watch via Bluetooth, over the course of 72 hours.”

Whereas, the Apple Watch Ultra can feature Multi-day adventure battery life based on usage while in Low Power mode and with enabled workout settings for GPS and heart rate readings. For instance:

  • 15 hours of hiking workout
  • Over 600-time checks
  • 35 minutes of app use
  • 3 minutes of talk
  • 15 hours of sleep tracking
  • Over the course of 60 hours

Consequently, you need to keep in mind that the new wrist gadget does not simply offer 12 hours more battery life than the first-gen device and this could be easily misinterpreted. In other words, it is possible that the Apple Watch Ultra device is capable of 72 hours of battery life.

Things are still unclear since there isn’t any proof on this matter. Let’s see what the tech giant utters regarding the battery facilities of wearables in the upcoming days.
