Key Points

  • The latest Google Play System update brings a new School Time feature to Wear OS.
  • The new addition seems similar to the feature available on Apple Watch.
  • This latest feature will let parents limit the apps their children use and silence their devices.

Google has recently introduced an awesome new feature called School Time for Wear OS devices. This newly added School Time feature is designed to help parents manage their children’s screen time and ensure they stay focused during school hours.

As per the details, the latest version of Google Play Services brings an Apple Watch-like School Time feature to Wear OS smartwatches. However, the release note didn’t describe the feature in detail. But we can expect it to work similarly to the Apple Watch.

The School Time feature present on Apple Watch lets parents restrict app notifications and turn on Do Not Disturb during school hours. This helps children to concentrate on their studies without any unnecessary distractions from their Wear OS smartwatch.

  • If you’re a parent, you’ll be able to set School Time to limit the apps your child can use and silence their device.

So, if you’re a parent and finding a way to manage your child’s screen time on their Wear OS smartwatch, then make sure to update the Play Services to version v24.18 and take advantage of this excellent School Time feature.
