Google Pixel Watch 2 demands newer Android versions on your phone
Google is ready to show off its new wearable on the launch stage along with the Pixel 8 series. In case you are thinking of grabbing the ultimate Pixel Watch 2 at the earliest, then make sure that your smartphone is running on the newer Android versions.
The US tech giant has officially teased the Pixel Watch 2, which has appeared as a twin of the previous model. The company has made an upgrade to the internal configuration although the hardware specifications remain the same.
Describing some key details, Google cited that the Pixel Watch 2 demands Android 9.0 or newer versions. This change is already present in a footnote page:
“Works with most phones running Android 9.0 or newer and requires a Google Account, Google Pixel Watch app and internet access.”
Note that the Pixel Watch app is still compatible with Android 8 and later versions even after the latest app update. However, the company has mainly highlighted that the new wearable running on Wear OS 4 demands a better OS for smartphones to match the compatibility.
