Following the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung’s main focus seems to be on the wearable segment, as several rumors hint about the upcoming Galaxy wearables with significant upgrades. Meanwhile, a new one suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 series could come with Android 14-based Wear OS 5 software.

Going toward the details, 9To5Google has recently suggested that Samsung and Google are preparing a major Wear OS 5 update based on Android 14 which will be shipped with the next wearable devices launching later this year.

  • Samsung is actively working to support a build of Android 14 for its next-generation Galaxy Watch 7 chip (Exynos 5535, as reported last week). In multiple locations, this build is referred to as “Wear OS 5.”

It means, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Classic, that is expected to launch alongside sixth-generation foldable phones in the second half of 2024 will arrive with several sophisticated features and capabilities as compared to previous generations and be powered on Android 14-based Wear OS 5 software.

However, there is no additional information available about the Wear OS 5 at the moment, but we can expect to get more on this in the coming weeks. Additionally, we can also expect that the next version of Wear OS-based Android 14 will bring some significant changes to offer a more optimized experience.
