Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 may not feature non-invasive blood sugar monitoring

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 gets One UI Watch 4.5 Beta with dual SIM feature

In addition to smartphones and tablets, Samsung also launches new and advanced smart wearable devices every year. Up to now, Galaxy Watch 3 is the brand’s latest high-end smartwatch product. Moving on, the company may soon launch a new Galaxy Watch model at the next Unpacked event.

Before the official announcement, some new information from South Korea indicated that Samsung is preparing to give up its Tizen OS on the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4. However, there were also reports last month that the next-generation Galaxy Watch will run Google’s Wear operating system instead of Tizen.

If the next generation of Galaxy smartwatches will be equipped with Google Wear OS, then Samsung abandoned Wear OS 7 years ago, which is the other way around. Previously, it was reported that the lack of mainstream applications on the Tizen platform was the reason why Tizen OS was suspended from Galaxy Watches.

In addition, the report also hinted that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 will not have the non-invasive blood glucose monitoring function rumored at the beginning of this year. In addition, the former will be available in 42mm and 46mm sizes, while the latter will be available in 40mm and 42mm sizes.

Previously, Max Weinbach found two code names (Fresh and Wise) when disassembling the Samsung Wearable app, which indicates that Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 will be the brand’s next smartwatches. The same source also discovered a new plug-in “water”, which is expected to become a compatibility layer designed by Samsung for Wear OS.
