Reportedly, this patent was invented by Luo Wenhui. However, Xiaomi applied for the patent last month, but released it earlier this week. The title of this new battery patent is “Battery Expansion Prompt Method and Device”.
The name suggests that the technology will be able to detect and inform users of the aging of their batteries and their health. We can also say that to avoid any complications, this technique will remind users to find out if there is bulging in the battery.
Moreover, according to the specification, the present disclosure relates to a method and instrument for proposing battery expansion. The device consists of a battery part, battery back cover, piezoelectric ceramic and current detection circuit.
At the facing position of the battery, piezoelectric ceramic is placed inside the battery back cover or under the battery compartment. The current detection circuits connected to piezoelectric ceramics are used to detect the current signal generated by it. When piezoelectric ceramic produces a current signal, it means that the battery’s expansion current is greater than the original.
In addition, the technology will be based on the battery, and will be able to detect any irregularity in its size. This technology can soon be implemented in industry as well, especially in terms of security.
