Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is the latest foldable which has arrived with bundles of software and hardware capabilities, however, we now have access to its teardown video, showing out the challenging work accomplished by the Xiaomi engineers.
The process starts by removing the SIM card tray and prying off the back plate which reveals one-half of the device. The cover screen is also carefully removed exposing both sides of the back. Removing a few covers, screws, and flex cables reveals the vertical stack motherboard and quad Leica camera system.
The all-new proprietary hinge mechanism which boasts impressive craftsmanship and multiple neat colorful water gaskets to help keep any liquids out is been revealed. Notably, the new hinge is thinner than its predecessor but weighs a bit more at 23.4 grams.
However, with the blessing of the keel shaft, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 has passed the 500,000 times folding, supports 45°-135° free hovering, and also makes the unfolded form thinner by 8.6%, the folded form thinner by 2.5%, and the width of the hinge is narrowed by 8 %, the space in the reel area is reduced by 17%.
