“In a game like Resident Evil Village, where exploration is an essential element of the gameplay, 3D sound is critical. You can feel it in the Maiden demo: the footsteps of castle residents climbing the stairs, or the sounds of “something” moving in a dark basement … The effectiveness of 3D sound in creating convincing spatial sound exceeded my expectations. Creating the feeling that someone is behind the scenes is very important, so I think this feature will be indispensable in the future in such games. “
The 3D sound in PlayStation 5 is based on the Tempest engine. The solution allows developers to accurately position the sound, which affects the player’s immersion in the virtual world. Resident Evil Village Coming May 7 For PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One.
