IFixit has taken apart Apple’s new 24-inch iMac to assess its maintainability. So far, they have published only the first part of the disassembly report, so the final estimate is unknown.
However, it is already striking how little space is occupied in the computer case by electronic components in comparison with what it was in the models of previous years of release. A good idea of this and of the layout, in general, is given by an X-ray of the product taken for iFixit by Creative Electron.

The single-chip Apple M1, RAM, and other chips are located on a narrow PCB at the bottom of the case. Below it is shown separately, after being removed from the case.
The Apple M2 SoC is circled in red, and two LPDDR4 memory chips with a capacity of 4 GB each, manufactured by SK Hynix, are located as a “sandwich” under the M1.
Highlighted in yellow is a 128GB flash memory chip manufactured by Kioxia. Green is Apple 339S00763 wireless module that provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, blue and blue are Apple APL1096 / 343S00474 and Apple APL1097 / 343S00475 power controllers. Pink shows the Richtek RT4541GQV PWM controller.
