Android 14 Beta 2.1 released with another set of bug fixes
Google is now blessing its Pixel handsets with the Android 14 Beta 2.1 release. The latest firmware is holding another set of bug fixes over the previous build. Most of these improvements are related to the system applications, battery, and stability aspects.
According to the inputs, Android 14 Beta 2.1 is rolling out with the UPB2.230407.019 version. Alongside the bug fixes and significant optimizations for the Pixel devices, the update accompanies the May 2023 patch to enhance the system security and prevent harmful malware.
Moving on to the bug fixes, the list begins with the solution for a troubling issue that often restricted users from completing the device setup after opting for the Android 14 beta build from the beta program.
Pay attention! this fix is not backward compatible. Hence, users need to take the following steps to opt out of the beta program:
Initially, update the device to the new version – Android 14 Beta 2.1 via the OTA update notification, or by downloading an OTA image and then applying it manually. Next, reset the pin, pattern, or password, set on your phone by visiting Settings > Security & Privacy > Screen Lock.
You can also utilize the same pin or password, though you will require to go through the setup flow. Finally, opt out of the beta program by taking help from the ‘How can I opt out and return to a public Android release’ question from the FAQ section.
