Posted on

Google has released the Android 14 beta 4 with a bunch of features for Pixel devices. These changes are related to various aspects of the device including unlocking scenarios, a unique mute status bar icon, and more. In addition, there are useful tweaks for the Pixel Tablet as well.

On the other hand, the latest Android 14 beta 4 build signifies that these incredible features could be a part of the stable release as well. Thus, not only Pixel phone holders, but other Android device users will also be able to enjoy these functionalities in the time ahead.

 1. New Profile Pictures

Android 14 beta 4 has a pack of new profile pictures that looks amazing and attractive over previous selections. It includes 24 revamped circular snaps and looks inspired by Google’s design style. These images display animals, plants, and planets’ patterns.

2. Auto-Confirm Unlock

No more need to confirm unlock while typing a PIN on the lock screen. As in the latest Android 14 firmware, Google has added an ‘Auto-Confirm’ option that will unlock your phone automatically as you type in your PIN instead of the requirement to tap on the ENTER button. Though it is only applicable if your PIN is over 6 digits long.

3. Manufactured Year

Yes! Android 14 knows your phone’s manufacture year. The Settings menu will show the year in which your phone came into existence. You will find this information under Settings > About Phone > Model.

4. New Mute Status Bar Icon

Android 14 beta 4 shows a redesigned Mute Status Icon. Instead of the old and familiar bell icon, you will discover a modern symbol that appears as a speaker. Further, no other sound states offer a status icon.

5. Enhanced Split Screen on Tablets

You can now split the screen on tablets by tapping on the specific app that you want to use in the separation mode. For instance, as you will tap on the Google App, it will show a new window including options: App Info, Pause app, Split Screen, and Widgets.

6. No lock screen clocks or shortcuts on Pixel Tablet

The point is still unclear though the image reflects that Pixel Tablet users won’t find any lock screen clocks or shortcuts with Android 14 beta 4.
