Android 14 output switcher tweak lets you access one-tap mute shortcut
Google is gearing up Android 14 developments and by this time, we are hitting with new features that will be a part of the next major operating system. As per the revealings, Android 14 will bear a small yet neat output switcher tweak that lets you access the mute shortcut in one tap.
Spotted in one of the latest Android 14 beta versions, the speaker icon at the left side of the volume bar enables you to quickly mute the audio. At the same time, another tap on the icon will unmute it for a sixth of the full range.
So far, Android 13 hasn’t shown any such facility and allowed users to silence the audio by sliding the adjuster. Often this sliding gesture does not get you directly to the 0%. However, things will change for good with the upcoming software upgrade.
The new modification exhibits the ‘ Speakers & Displays’ heading in the switcher section. Besides, Android 14 media players animate a wave-like pattern while playing or pausing the audio along with a lava lamp-esque design.
Moreover, the new Android 14 output switcher is working fine with on-device speakers, Bluetooth headphones, Pixel Tablet’s Dock speaker, and other Cast products such as Nest Hub.
