Android 14 should adopt these incredible iOS 17 messaging features

Posted on

Android 14 is still ramping over the development stage while iOS 17 has made its debut at the WWDC 2023 event with some incredible messaging features. And it won’t be wrong to say that Google should take a bit of inspiration on how to make daily conversations easier and more convenient for users.

iOS 17 is currently in the hands of developers with a handful of eye-catching changes. However, the big software upgrade will add more benefits on the ground in the future, and one of them is the Check-In feature.

Yes! A feature that makes sure your loved ones have reached their place safely. Eventually, the feature enables you to ping a “made it home” message automatically as you reach your doorstep.

How’s that possible? Well, the feature comprises an advanced location-sharing tool for friends and family. It further allows for notifications when a delay could be holding up someone.

Catch Up feature for group chats

Another prominent addition could be the Catch-up feature for group chats. It comes along with an arrow indicating where you left the chat. Yes, it is a common facility that survives in other messaging apps as well. Yet, Apple has made it more useful with the iOS 17 upgrade.

While chatting in a group conversation in an app, we often have to leave the chat due to some important reasons. By the time we come back to the chat, it gets bombarded with several messages which makes it difficult to find where we left.

However, with the Catch Up feature, one can see a label for unread messages in the group which will ultimately aid you to find the last part of the conversation where you were at. Other than these two changes, Apple has made the iMessage more improved for iPhone users.
