Android 14 still climbing
Key Points:
- Android 14 is growing, but slowly.
- Most Android phones still use older software.
- New Android version (15) is coming soon.
Android 14, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, is gradually making its way onto smartphones. However, it’s still a long way from being the most popular version.
As of May 2024, only about 13% of Android phones were running Android 14. This is even though it’s been out for a while. The most popular version is Android 13, which is used by around 21% of phones. This shows that many people are still using older versions of Android.
It’s important to know how many phones are using each Android version because it helps app developers decide which features to include in their apps. Google collects this data and shares it with developers.
We’re expecting a new version of Android, called Android 15, to be released soon. It will be interesting to see how quickly people upgrade to this new version.
