Android 15 Beta: Pixel Buds and Watch changes

Key Points

  • Android 15 volume controls missing Pixel Buds Pro settings.
  • Pixel Watch 3 gets new bands, but the 45mm size has limited options.
  • Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 3 will have two sizes.

Google’s latest Android 15 software update has a fresh look for adjusting volume, but it’s lost a helpful feature for Pixel Buds Pro users. You can no longer quickly change noise cancellation settings right from the volume slider. This is a temporary issue and Google is likely to fix it before the final Android 15 release.

Meanwhile, we’re getting more details about Google’s next smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3. It will come in two sizes: a smaller 41mm and a larger 45mm. While the smaller size will work with most bands, the bigger one has limited band options. Google is introducing a new band style called “Performance Loop,” but it won’t be available right away.

Overall, the Android 15 volume change is a minor setback for Pixel Buds Pro users, but the Pixel Watch 3 looks promising with its new features and design.

Full Story

Google is testing its new Android 15 software, and while it looks nicer, there’s a small problem. If you use Pixel Buds Pro earbuds, you might be disappointed.

Previously, you could easily change noise cancellation settings directly from the volume slider on your phone. This was handy for quickly switching between noise cancellation, transparency mode, or turning off noise altogether. However, in the current Android 15 beta version, this option is missing.

Don’t worry, this is likely a temporary issue. Google is probably working on bringing back this feature before the final Android 15 is released. For now, you’ll need to go into the Quick Settings menu to adjust your Pixel Buds Pro settings.

On the other hand, we’re learning more about Google’s upcoming smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3. It’s going to come in two sizes: a regular 41mm and a larger 45mm. This is good news for people who prefer bigger watches.

Google is also introducing a new type of watch band called “Performance Loop”. It sounds comfortable and easy to use, but unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for it.

There’s a catch though. Not all watch bands will fit the larger 45mm Pixel Watch 3. So if you already have a collection of Pixel Watch bands, some of them might not work with the bigger version. This is a bit disappointing, but hopefully, Google will offer a good selection of bands for the 45mm model.

Overall, the Android 15 volume issue is a minor inconvenience, but the Pixel Watch 3 looks promising with its new features and design. We’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.
