Android Updates: Bluetooth battery rings and Samsung addresses Android Auto issues
Google’s New Bluetooth Battery Display
Android is refining how it displays battery levels for connected Bluetooth devices. In the upcoming Android 15 QPR2 update, Google is testing a new feature that adds circular battery indicators to the Bluetooth settings page. This polished design replaces the older method of showing percentages without adding new functionality.
The feature was spotted in the Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1, where the device details page now includes rings around connected accessories like earbuds and cases. These rings visually show the battery levels, offering a modern and user-friendly look. For example, in testing with Nothing Ear earbuds, the battery level was clearly displayed as 95% using this new ring system.
While a minor visual update, this change makes Android feel more polished and mature. It’s not live yet but could be enabled in the next beta or even Android 16, as Google plans to introduce more UI refinements in future updates.
Samsung’s Response to Android Auto Issues in One UI 7 Beta
Samsung’s One UI 7 Beta has faced compatibility problems with Android Auto. Users reported that the system disconnects randomly during use, forcing them to relaunch the app manually.
A Samsung community moderator explained that these issues might stem from incompatibilities between the One UI 7 Beta and the car’s Android Auto version. However, Samsung assured users that the final release will resolve these concerns.
To assist Samsung in identifying and fixing the problem, users are encouraged to report errors through the Samsung Members app:
- Open Samsung Members on your device.
- Navigate to One UI Beta Program > Beta Feedback.
- Attach screenshots or recordings of the issue if possible.
- Ensure “Send system log data” is checked.
- Submit the report within 15 minutes of experiencing the issue for accurate data.
For now, Samsung suggests keeping Android Auto updated, clearing its cache, and restarting the device as potential workarounds. Sharing any discovered fixes with the community can also help others facing similar issues.
These updates showcase Android’s push for improved visuals and user experience, along with Samsung’s commitment to addressing beta feedback.
