Apple may lose 20 million iPhone sales due to China ban

Posted on

Apple is dealing with a tough time in China and a recent report suggests that the company could lose 20 million iPhone sales due to the new prohibition. Apple’s business is likely to struggle in one of its largest consumer markets following the Chinese ban.

China has been a crucial marketing sector for Apple and the information reveals that the tech giant depends on this region for approx 19% of its total revenue. Eventually, China solely supports 40-50 million iPhone sales but the latest ban activity could make this number drop by 10 million units for Apple.

That’s not it! The loss could exceed this limit in case the local authority continues to extend this prohibition. The Bank of America Analyst says the following words on this matter:

“We estimate that every 1mn iPhones translates to about a penny in EPS. The prior foreign-branded laptop ban announced in 2022 allowed for a 2-year time frame to comply. It remains unclear what the timing of this potential ban would be.”

This entire action will significantly benefit Huawei to reach new heights in the Chinese smartphone market. The firm has recently released a new handset with ultrafast data connectivity. Perhaps, the two combined headlines will lead more Android users towards Huawei rather than iPhone.

Hence, Apple might lose at least 20 million iPhone sales in 2024. Let’s see how this matter progresses in the time ahead.
