Apple is making efforts to enhance the App Store and applications for its devices. In the latest edition, the company is asking Apple developers to justify the use of some kinds of APIs before using them in their apps and listed on the App Store.
The information reveals that the Apple Developers website now lists some APIs as “Required Reason APIs” for apps. It means that developers have to clarify why they are using such elements in their applications. Note that a few commonly used APIs, such as UserDefaults that stores user preferences, now fall under the Required Reason category.

Eventually, Apple developers will receive a warning if they submit apps using a Required Reason API without specifying its accurate requirement. From spring 2024, any apps using these APIs without a legitimate justification will be rejected in the review process.
