Apple halts signing iOS 16.4 update after iOS 16.4.1 release

Apple iOS 16.4.1 version release occupied its space on the user platform on April 07. The company pushed off the respective update to bring stability and performance improvements for the iPhone devices. But at the same time, the tech giant kept iOS 16.4 at a halt.

According to the latest information, Apple stopped signing the iOS 16.4 version after the release of iOS 16.4.1 firmware. This action will ultimately restrict iPhone users to downgrade the previous build after installing the iOS 16.4.1 update.

This is not the first time that the Mac developer has ceased the old version. Usually, Apple stops the progress of prior builds with every new software update.

This is so because the manufacturer tries to promote the latest version, and further encourages users to keep their devices up-to-date. Hence, it is quite general if the iOS 16.4 update no longer exists.

However, the sad part is, iOS 16.4 appeared as a major update with new emoji characters, Safari Web Push Notifications, and new tweaks to the beta opt-in procedures. Besides, it brought some new features for Shortcut, HomeKit architecture, and many more interesting elements. Whereas, the iOS 16.4.1 is just a bug fix update.
