Apple iMac with 27-inch MiniLED screen to arrive in early 2022

According to a report by MacRumors, DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants) CEO Ross Young revealed on Twitter that Apple is planning to launch a new 27-inch iMac computer in early 2022.

It should be mentioned that Young made a mistake in the initial revelation when he claimed the new product would be a different display, not an iMac.

From Young’s conversation, our informer discovered that the iMac’s 27-inch display will use Mini-LED backlighting, which could mean it will be part of Apple’s XDR series of screens. Young said on Twitter that Apple currently plans to release a new iMac in the first quarter of 2022.

Moreover, the new 27-inch iMac display will support ProMotion technology, which allows for an adaptive refresh rate between 24Hz and 120Hz. However, Young did not mention the resolution of the computer monitor. As a reference, Apple’s 27-inch iMac currently uses a display resolution of 5K.

Aside from these, Apple has introduced a few other products with mini-LED displays in the past, including the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro launched earlier this year, and the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros launched this morning.

Young speculates that Apple’s use of Mini-LED on the new iMac means it will continue to maintain Apple’s leading position in the mini-LED field.

His news on performance-related revelations has always been very accurate. He accurately predicted that the new iPad mini will use an 8.3-inch display and the new MacBook Pro will use ProMotion technology.
