Apple iOS 17 beta hints at new Action button for iPhone 15 Pro models

Posted on

Apple has recently dropped iOS 17 beta 4 for developers. Alongside hidden features and capabilities, iOS 17 hints that the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro models will gain a unique and long-rumored Action button, and will let users perform various functions on board.

Elaborating on this matter, Apple iOS 17 beta reflects some codes that point out at the Action button for the iPhone 15 Pro handsets. This tab would be similar to the one we see on Apple Watch Ultra. Although, it will accompany more focused options.

Besides, it will enable consumers to quickly access several operations and settings without going through multiple taps or unlocking the device. Here are some of the features that users can opt for:

Apple iPhone 15 Pro & Pro Max Action Button

1. Accessibility: This option would presumably let users access various accessibility features, such as VoiceOver, Zoom, AssistiveTouch, and more.

2. Shortcuts: It would let users run any shortcut they have created or downloaded from the Shortcuts app, such as sending a message, playing a playlist, or controlling smart home devices.

3. Silent Mode: Similar to how the switch works on current ‌iPhone‌ models, this option would let users toggle silent mode on or off, which would mute or unmute the ringer and alerts.

4. Camera: This option would likely let users launch the Camera app and/or take a photo or video with a single press of the Action button.

5. Flashlight: This option would let users turn on or off the flashlight on the back of the device.

6. Focus: This option should let users activate or deactivate a Focus mode.

7. Magnifier: This option would presumably let users activate the Magnifier app to use the ‌iPhone‌’s camera as a magnifying glass to zoom in on small text or objects.

8. Translate: This option could let users launch the Translate app as well as start a conversation or text translation with a single press of the Action button.

9. Voice Memos: This option would let users start or stop recording a voice memo with the Voice Memos app.
