Apple iOS 17 changes privacy settings without permission, users report

Posted on

Apple fans are busy exploring new tweaks in the stable iOS 17 upgrade but apart from features, it looks like some glitches have come along with the latest software. Eventually, users reported sudden changes in the privacy settings with Apple iOS 17.

A couple of iOS developers on X noted that some users are experiencing changes in the existing privacy settings without permission after installing the major Apple iOS 17 upgrade. It is specifically happening for Significant Locations and iPhone Analytics.

The inputs further reveal that users have turned off these options in their iPhones but iOS 17 enables them without any warning. The issue is not affecting a majority of users but has appeared for several of them. Though significant locations are end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by anyone. Yet, it’s better to disable the features.

A good thing is – Apple has confirmed that the team started addressing the issue and will soon release a fix update for the same. Perhaps, we don’t have to wait for much to get rid of this annoying defect.
