Apple iOS 17 lets you manage several tasks, even if your iPhone is locked
Apple iOS 17 has several useful functionalities that enable you to work with your device more conveniently, and one such is the ability to manage all tasks and operations even if your iPhone is locked. How? Let’s dig into the matter to get more details.
Earlier, while giving commands to Siri for certain tasks such as ‘read my messages’ or ‘what’s next on my calendar’, it responded “You need to unlock your iPhone first”. This is quite annoying at times when you can not unlock the device due to distance or other reasons.
However, Apple iOS 17 has solved this hurdle and let you operate such tasks even when your iPhone is locked. As per the details, the company has imposed a new Siri authentication system that helps to perform the commanded functions. Here is what an Apple observer said on this matter:
“There’s a new Siri authentication system on AirPods where if your device is unlocked while wearing your AirPods, it will be considered authenticated as long as they are in range. (or until you change the output audio device on the system).
So basically when my carer puts my AirPods in my ears, then as long as my iPhone is unlocked when she does so, even if it locks afterward I can still access my messages, calendar events, and more.”
