Apple iPhone 12 grabbed 42% of global smartphone market in Q1, 2021: Report

According to research by Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 12 series not only dominated in revenue in the first quarter of 2021 but was also the best-selling smartphone series during the quarter.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max generated the most revenue, followed by the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. In terms of sales, the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro are in the lead. The fourth place is held by the iPhone 11.

Interestingly, in some countries, such as the United States, the iPhone 12 Pro Max was the top-selling model. The flagship models sold well thanks to the active promotion of the operators.

In the top ten best-selling smartphones, only the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2020 do not support fifth-generation networks. iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max took 32% of smartphone revenue for the quarter. And the top 10 best-selling models accounted for 46% of the revenue.

As we previously reported, iPhone 12 sales in Japan totaled 11.01 million units. With the release of this line, sales of 5G smartphones in the country have grown 40 times.
