Apple issued a new MacBook Face ID patent, but there’s a catch

Posted on

Apple has issued a new MacBook Face ID patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office. Eventually, the aim of this application is to impose biometric authentication for future MacBooks and iMac models. Let’s grab some more details on this matter.

So far, the company kept its users in dilemma regarding this concept. Back in 2021, when an interviewer asked why Face ID was not present in the M1 Pro and Pro Mx version of the MacBook Pro, Apple replied that the Touch ID is a far better solution.

Perhaps, a reason behind skipping Face ID from MacBook could be some technical problems, particularly triggering a clear signal. Finally, Apple has solved this issue in the previous patent by adding a scanning for-faces feature and is now preparing for a Face ID tweak to MacBook devices.
