Deird O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and personnel, confirmed Apple’s intention to expand its retail store to Funke Mediengruppe in Germany: “On our online website, people can learn a lot about the product; in the store Here, they can touch and feel the products. Although it is unclear whether the expansion will be concentrated in a certain region, O’Brien’s statement to German publishers may indicate that Europe will be a focus.
Apple’s latest retail store is Apple Via del Corso in Rome, which just opened last week, and the company is also building a second retail store in Berlin.
In addition, O’Brien said that Apple will “unquestionably” increase its international design infrastructure, just as the company plans to establish a 1 billion euro chip design center in Munich in the next three years.
