Apple plans to reduce weight of Vision headsets in future
Apple introduced the Vision Pro headsets a few months back and now the company is planning to significantly reduce the weight of upcoming models in this lineup. It looks like Apple wants to make some effective changes for the future Vision headsets.
The popular Apple observer @MarkGurman recently wrote in his Power On newsletter that the tech giant is considering weight reduction for future Vision headsets. Consequently, the aim is to make these models lighter and smaller compared to the current invention.
Meanwhile, prescription lenses are another point of pain for Apple and the manufacturer could take some prominent steps, by simplifying the entire setup. Here’s what Mark quoted:
“Work on the next Vision Pro remains early, but the company is hoping to make the device lighter and at least slightly smaller. It currently weighs about a pound, and testing has shown that it can feel too heavy for some users — even in short stretches. Apple is considering addressing this on the first model with an over-the-head strap, but making the hardware lighter is a better long-term solution.”
