Apple releases digital IDs for Wallet app in Arizona
Apple has released its digital IDs feature for its Wallet application in Arizona. The state remains to be the first to receive this feature along with the virtual diving license. In a few days from now, it will roll out for other states and regions as well. Consequently, the feature lets you seamlessly checkout at security points or Airports with just one tap on your iPhone or Apple Watch.
Talking about the further release, several states desire to enjoy this thoughtful feature. For instance: Colorado, Hawaii, Mississippi, Ohio, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, Utah, and the territory of Puerto Rico.
What is the Digital IDs feature?
The vice president of Apple Pay and Wallet indicates the benefits of digital IDs. She claims it to be the simplest, easiest and most secure, and private method to exhibit one’s id at any place, any time. A user only has to tap once on their Apple Wearables or iPhone to showcase their IDs at the time of need without unlocking the phone.
How to enable this feature?
To activate a digital ID/License on your device, follow the given below steps:
- Open your Wallet app
- Tap the + sign given at the top of the screen
- Select Driver’s License/State ID
- Follow the instructions given on the screen
- Scan your ID’s front and backside for verification process
- Make a confirmation by again following the on-screen steps
- Send to your state for approval
Key Points:
The users must note the following key points:
- The feature is only applicable on iPhone 8 or later models
- Software version should be latest, i.e. iOS 15.4 or watchOS 8.4 or newer
- For now, the feature is only accessible for users residing in Arizona
