Apple releases second beta builds of iOS 14.4, iPadOS 14.4, and macOS BigSur 11.2

Apple previously released the iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 update for the eligible iPhones and Apple devices and now the company is running the beta activity for iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4. On the other hand, macOS BigSur is also receiving the second beta for the upcoming macOS 11.2 update.

According to the latest info, the US tech giant recently released the second public betas for the upcoming iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4 update for testing purposes. This new beta has arrived almost a month after the first beta.

The iOS and iPadOS 14.4 updates add some more functionality to the existing operating system. It adds a new function in the HomePod Mini along with the advantage of the U1 chip. The new features now include visual, audio, and haptic effects to the U1 enabled iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 when the songs are transferred from the HomePod mini.

Also, there is a new ‘Time to walk’ feature in the workout section of the Apple Watch which includes a toggle to add the newest workout to the watch. The new ‘Time to workouts for Watch’ can be downloaded when the Watch is connected to the iPhone.

Furthermore, iOS 14.4 includes a new setting that will now specify the type of Bluetooth device which is connected to your iPhone such as the headphone, car stereo, hearing aid, or speaker. This function helps Apple to keep a track of the maximum audio level for the headphones that have the potential to damage your hearing health over time.

macOS BigSur Beta 2

Alongside the iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4, Apple also released the second beta for the upcoming macOS BigSur. While it is not clear as to what new features this update will carry along with it. It is likely to include performance improvements, security updates, and several bug fixes.

The update is available to the public beta testers who have signed for Apple’s beta testing program. The update can be downloaded after installing the proper certificate from the public beta website.
