Apple will revise tax rate and price for apps and in-app purchases in select regions

Apple is already in controversy with the Epic games regarding the in-app purchase and the company is now making more changes in the apps and in-app purchases for some specific regions.

According to the latest report, Apple told the developers that the App and the in-app purchase will soon be subject to tax rate and price adjustments. In the coming days, the developer’s revenue in the regions mentioned below will be adjusted and calculated based on tax-exclusive price.

For countries including Cameroon and Zimbabwe, the tax price will be increased. While for the other regions expect these the tax will be decreased. Here is the list of all the regions that will face the change.

Cameroon: New value-added tax of 19.25% (Increased)

Zimbabwe: New value-added tax of 14.5% (Increased)

Germany: Value-added tax rate reversion to 19% after temporary decrease to 16%. Prices on the App Store will not change.

Republic of Korea: Prices of alternative tiers for apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) will be adjusted to allow for additional locally relevant pricing conventions.

Following the new changes, once the new pricing comes into effect the pricing and availability of the section of My Apps will be updated.

Developers then can change the price of their respective apps and in-app purchases any time from the App Store Connect. And if they offer subscriptions on the apps then, there is an option to preserve price for existing subscribers.
