The developers of the popular AnTuTu benchmark have published the results of testing the new iPad Pro tablet, which is based on the Apple M1 single-chip system.

The tested iPad Pro comes with a 12.9-inch display, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of flash storage. A direct comparison with the MacBook Air, which is also built on the Apple M1, shows that the laptop is slightly faster. However, it is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory.

AnTuTu not only tests the performance of the processor, but also the GPU, memory, and responsiveness of the user interface. The overall score of the new iPad Pro was 1,060,247 points, while the MacBook Air scored 1,119,243 points, and the iPhone 12 was able to score 572,133 points, that is, more than half.

The MacBook Air turned out to be about 17% faster in CPU performance, and the GPU is also faster. Memory performance is better on the iPad Pro.

Apple’s M1 and A14 use the same CPU and GPU cores, only the M1 has more – four large CPU cores (versus two), four small and eight GPU cores (versus four).
