However, the game was criticized by Xbox console players for not being able to disable cross-platform play. Cross-platform play was introduced to the Call of Duty franchise a few years ago, enabling PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players to play cross-platform online.
Some people like the cross-platform play feature because it allows them to play with their friends no matter what gaming platform they’re on, but others don’t like the feature and would rather have it disabled.
Moreover, there are many arguments against cross-platform games, such as in games, PC players can use a mouse and keyboard, while console players can only use a controller.
Also, hacking is much more common on PC platforms than on consoles, so cross-platform play has the potential to expose console players to more hacks, and some have disabled the feature.
Currently, PS4 and PS5 players can turn off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s cross-platform play feature at any time, but PC and Xbox consoles do not currently support disabling the feature, so some Xbox players are very unhappy about this.
It’s unclear why Xbox players aren’t currently allowed to disable Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s cross-play feature, or if the feature will be added at a later date.
