Dear OnePlus, stop ignoring battery features when building new OxygenOS version

Posted on

OnePlus smartphone users appreciate how the company implements iconic features in its OxygenOS version, but it’s time that the tech giant should turn its focus towards the battery segment. After lock screen customizations, the battery-oriented capabilities should count as the next major addition.

Android vendors like Samsung continue to forge amazing battery features for their Galaxy devices. The company even provides the Battery Guardian app which recently introduced the Screen Curtain capability for One UI 6 devices.

As the name reflects, the features overlay an AOD screen while keeping the apps active in the background. This process ultimately helps in saving battery life by reducing the screen brightness and preventing accidental touches.

Battery Widget is still missing

Samsung and Apple, both have attained success in offering battery widgets. This has been the most requested feature by OnePlus fans. But so far, the tech giant didn’t bring any such functionality to its devices. While Samsung is capable of displaying the battery status of up to 8 devices at the same time, the Chinese OEM has not yet taken any conclusive action on this matter.

Though the Nord developer has seeded some features like optimized charging, and power-saving mode, we still require some noticeable additions to this segment. OxygenOS 14 could be a light of hope in this matter, but it is really important that OnePlus should stop ignoring battery features when developing new OxygenOS versions.
